10. Maison Martin Margiela

I went to the Maison Martin Margiela Exhibition at Somerset House in London and really enjoyed it. The amount of inspiring designs and ideas was over welling. I found the use of Trompe-L'oeil fascinating, meaning in French 'deceive the eye', its an art technique that gives an optical illusion.

Also I found the womenswear pretty incredible, above I like the idea of that its a tailors dummy, which you normally work on but here she is wearing. Below, the jacket made out of straps and belts is cool and I like how Martin Margiela make the models have no face by putting fabric on the face.

These images are from Maison Martin Margiela 20 The Exhibition book by Kaat Debo. Also there is a image from Noki from the book 'British Fashion Designers' by Hywel Davies.
