20.

I found this image by Emma Cook, its from her spring/summer 2008 collection. It shows the quirky and original experimentation with print. This image makes a statement because even though its the same print, it stands out!

Image is from 'British Fashion Designers' by Hywel Davis.

William Morris wallpaper and image of a tree house from a V&A booklet.

Postcard from RHS Rosemoor. Chrysanthemum wallpaper by William Morris.

When walking around London, I saw many cool window displays. One that stood out for me, was the Liberty display of a skeleton riding a bike! Also on this page is embellishment images from Christopher Kane.

Another window display (below) which i thought was cool, had many umbrellas in the window.

Christopher Kane images are from 'British Fashion Designers' by Hywel Davies and the image above is untitled by Nick Waplington, which was in the Another Magazine, September 2010.

17.

I was given this booklet called 'Hipsters Handbook', when I was working at On/Off in London. This photo shoot caught my eye, it has a feeling of dark and light, and the capes by Lee Lapthorne, are amazing.

A collaboration between On/Off Creative Director, Lee Lapthorne and the Hipsters Handbook team. Art  Direction by Hidden, photography by James Moriarty and styling by Alex Knox. Images from 'Hipsters Handbook'.

These postcards are from Budapest, Hungary, I think they are beautiful. Both images are different views of the Parliament. The bottom postcard has the Margaret Bridge on, it was made by a French engineer called Ernest Gouin. The water hat is made by Stephen Jones, who is 'the most beautiful hats in the world' quoted by Anna Piaggi of Italian Vogue.

The background on the first image is from 'Interiors for Architects & Designers' December 2000. Postcards are from Eck Imre Gabor, bplight@Gma. The Stephan Jones hat image is from 'British Fashion Designers' by Hywel Davies.

Deryck Walker is a Womenswear and Menswear fashion designer, I came across this image in the 'British Fashion Designer' book. I love the style of this guy and his windmill bow tie. Deryck Walker creates sharp and precise clothing.

The picture in background is from an old interior design magazine, I love the structure in it, and the colours go really well with the Deryck Walker image. That is from 'British Fashion Designers' by Hywell Davies.

14. Boomtown Fair

Boomtown was very cool, with lots going on, weird people running around in strange costumes and crazy music.

The poster at the top, it was just on one of the walls at Boomtown, but it think its so cool. The Noki images are from 'British Fashion Designers' by Hywel Davies. The photos of Boomtown are photos I photographed.

13. The Enchanted Palace

When in London, I took a look at the Enchanted Palace at Kensington Palace! It had many rooms about different princess, with famous designers work. 'The Room of Palace Time' I preferred out of all of them, it had work by Boudicca and it looked amazing.

The big images are from 'British Fashion Designer' by Hywel Davies and the postcard at the top is the 'Dress of Colour of Time', 2010 by Boudicca, installation by WildWorks.

These images really caught my eye, they are from Juke magazine. Quite fun but sinister.

11. Maison Martin Margeila Menswear

I also thought the menswear clothes were great too, I love how the strips over their eyes imply a sense of anonymity.

These images are from 'Maison Martin Margiela 20 Exhibition' by Kaat Debo.

10. Maison Martin Margiela

I went to the Maison Martin Margiela Exhibition at Somerset House in London and really enjoyed it. The amount of inspiring designs and ideas was over welling. I found the use of Trompe-L'oeil fascinating, meaning in French 'deceive the eye', its an art technique that gives an optical illusion.

Also I found the womenswear pretty incredible, above I like the idea of that its a tailors dummy, which you normally work on but here she is wearing. Below, the jacket made out of straps and belts is cool and I like how Martin Margiela make the models have no face by putting fabric on the face.

These images are from Maison Martin Margiela 20 The Exhibition book by Kaat Debo. Also there is a image from Noki from the book 'British Fashion Designers' by Hywel Davies.

9.

War Hero. These images are from Dazed and Confused, this shoot is incredible. I find it really inspiring, the way they put wool on the face to make it look like blood.

Dazed and Confused, Vol11.87 July 2010. Photography is by Richard Burbridge and styling by Robbie Spencer.

8.

I found this image in another interior design magazine, I think it's a stunning installation and quite sinister. The photos by the image are from the Broomhill Exhibition and I love the structure of this object.

The image is from RIBA interiors magazine, 2000.

7.

This image is from Dazed and Confused Magazine, this skirt is fantastic and the finger nails on the model are really cool. The image of the white sculpture is from the Broomhill exhibition, I think the contrast on the layers from the sculpture and the white tulle skirt is adding texture. The skirt is by Ann-Sofie Back.

The image is from Dazed and Confused, Vol11.88 August 2010. The photography is by Roe Ethridge. The Broomhill image is one I photographed. The Sculpture was made by David Booth.

6.

Other work from Mike Roles.. the twist in the man's stomach is pretty cool. I have also added on the page, images from fashion designers Noki and Gareth Pugh, I find these two designers very influential.

The Mike Roles images are from 'Mike Roles, Welcome to the Third Millennium' by Sue Atkinson and the images of Gareth Pugh and Noki's work is from 'British Fashion Designers' by Hywel Davies.

5. Welcome to the Third Millennium

I went to the Broomhill exhibition in Devon and I came across this in one of the gardens. It is by a sculptor called Mike Roles. He expresses emotion in form and has a dark poetic approach to his art. The forms are made out of bronze but it looks rusty and decayed, it has lots of texture which is very interesting to look at.

Images from the book 'Mike Roles, Welcome to the Third Millennium' by Sue Atkinson.

4. Bangkok Breakdown

This is image is amazing and has so much power. The man is an anti-government protester, against the resignation of Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva.

The photograph is taken by Athit Perawongmetha. Found in The Sunday Times September 2010 issue.

3.

I found this image in my mum's collection of old interior design magazines. I loved the shape in the building, the rubble and the colours.

From Interiors for Architects & Designers, September/October 2000.

Another cool image was this one from the D&G look book. I think the print of the jacket the model is wearing is so lovely, it reminds me of churches and stain glass windows. Also included are images of the Alexander McQueen dress, that is in the V&A, I almost died when I saw it!

2.

Glastonbury Festival has been a big influence on my library of cool, this festival is so alternative and interesting, with lots of crazy art work and people!

The postcard above is one I bought at the festival, its by Paula Bailey. I have drawn and photographed the others images. I love the art work at the top of the  buffalo head and I have incorporated the head in some of my designs.

1. Library of Cool

Throughout my summer I have been collecting loads of different things that have inspired me and what I think is cool.

I found this image in The Sunday Times magazine from the September 2010 issue. I think its such a stunning image, the way the boat looks all decayed.
